Our Commitment to the Community

By Sister Nancy Madden, Founder and Chief Development Officer of P.E.C.E.S., Inc.

In Programa de Educación Comunal de Entrega y Servicio (Community Education Program for Delivery and Service) (P.E.C.E.S., Inc.) we work so that disadvantaged communities achieve the development they deserve.

We have been providing hope to the eastern region of Puerto Rico for more than 35 years, because we believe that each person is capable of transforming their lives and their community. Annually, our education, prevention and economic entrepreneurship programs impact more than 25,000 people. Through our Alternative School, founded 30 years ago, we have served more than 2,000 young people at risk of interrupting their educational process; most of these have continued technical and professional careers or have joined the labor force.

The support of Puerto Rican businessmen has been vital for us to carry out successful fundraising campaigns, which allow us to expand the services we offer to our participants. For this reason, we deeply appreciate the collaboration of the Pepe Ganga team that opens its doors to our Campaign of Hope, a fundraising effort, through which in exchange for a donation of $1, customers can take one of four "charms" with inspiring messages related to hope.

We invite you to visit your nearest Pepe Ganga store and to get your 'charm' when paying at the cash register. We have a lot of work and projects ahead of us and every dollar raised helps us carry them out. Be part of our effort and help us share hope with those who need it most.
